4 Days Bwindi Gorilla Habituation Experience Trip
Up to four hours with a gorilla family during the habituation process — only in Bwindi

What to Expect
Gorilla habituation is the process of training wild gorillas to grow accustomed to the presence of people, and it's an experience unique to Uganda's Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Rather than the standard one-hour visit, participants spend up to four hours with a gorilla family alongside researchers and trackers, learning individual gorillas' behaviors and personalities. Bwindi has fifteen habituated groups tracked from four trailheads — Buhoma, Ruhija, Nkuringo, and Rushaga. Only 4 people per day are permitted, and permits should be booked at least 6 months in advance. The trip opens with a day in Kampala, a scenic transfer south with a stop at the Equator, the habituation experience itself with an optional Batwa cultural walk, and a return journey to Kampala.
